During stage 3 in Dauphine Libere (9 June), he ran into a ravine. He suffered from a complex fracture of his left shoulder, a straight fracture of his right tibia, a fractured left collarbone and several broken bones in his face and worst of all a cranial trauma with cerebral edema and was operated several times.
